Odd One Out is a test of eyes and nerve. Every round fills the screen with coloured squares and exactly one of them is a slightly different shade. Whoever taps it first takes the point — but a wrong tap locks you out of the round, so stabbing at squares costs you.

It gets harder as you go. The grid grows from four squares to thirty-six, and the difference between the shades shrinks round by round until you are second-guessing your own screen. Ten rounds, roughly two minutes, and it ends early if the gap can no longer be closed.

Both players see exactly the same grid at the same moment, so there is never an excuse about whose screen was better.

How to play

  • One square is a slightly different shade than the rest.
  • First to tap it scores. A wrong tap locks you out of that round.
  • 10 rounds — the grid grows and the shades get closer.
